Split vote sends one clear message in Italy: No to austerity.

    Not really a surprise that no one wants austerity. People and countries would rather live beyond their means - politicians can give out all sorts of promises and the people like it, at least until the bill comes due. However, we live in a world where govt's think they can continue to kick the can - and they can for longer than anyone thinks, but it just adds to the bill. "They need to spend to promote growth." No, they just want to spend to get reelected and austerity isn't popular. There's no plan to create anything sustainable.
