Franklin Resources Stock Is A Value Play Worth Buying: (BEN)
FYI: Franklin Resources is a value stock in two senses.
It has a cash-rich balance sheet, as well as direct exposure to value-investing strategies that have gained prominence as doubts have grown about high-growth companies in recent months.
The investment manager (ticker: BEN) reported weak results for its final fiscal quarter, ended in September, earlier Friday. Per-share earnings came in at 61 cents, below the Wall Street consensus of 64 cents and down from 96 cents in the year-earlier period. The firm is still being hurt by outflows from its mutual funds and other investment products, many of which have a value bent.
