FYI: Here’s a little secret that isn’t so secret on Wall Street: Companies like to dress up their earnings statements.

It isn’t something nefarious or illegal. Accepted accounting practices allow companies at times to present numbers that, while accurate, may not provide the clearest picture to investors.
