The Breakfast Briefing: U.S. Futures Point To Higher Open However, Global Stocks Fall
FYI: U.S. stock futures pointed to a recovery Monday morning after President Trump said China is ready to come back to the negotiating table following a phone call Sunday and the two countries will start talking very seriously.
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures traded 154 points higher, indicating a rise of 208.10 points at Monday’s open, as of 3:27 a.m. ET Monday. S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures also pointed to opening gains for both indexes.
Futures rose b/c the overnight trading algos saw headlines reading Tweety Amin said he got a call from China saying they were ready to deal on trade ... yet the Chinese have not confirmed such a phone call ever took place. Typical.
@ rforno. Hi sir, saw news earlier today [forgot which website] that documented that they [china] wanted new trade deals talks since this also hurt them badly; think takes two to tangle though
