FYI: Frenemy” relationships can be confounding, with all the tit-for-tats and on-again, off-again drama.

When the frenemies are the U.S. and China, each twist can send sentiment—and markets—swinging wildly. That’s why China-focused investors are channeling the parents of teenagers everywhere by bracing for a protracted conflict and looking for companies that can thrive regardless, or even because, of the disharmony.
