  • I hope you have a whole lot more going for you than hope like a semi full of Benjamin's for example.
  • "cali"...

    "Hooe"...

    Pathetic.

“Hooe” (also spelled “Hooie”) - That’s what my Grandma used to say whenever she stepped into something nasty out in the yard.

Good story, however. At least California is attempting to do something about a looming problem. I suspect, however, that those who need this plan the most will be the first to “opt-out.” Similar to how many borrow against their meager 401K assets while still working.
  • Today many Californian retirees cannot afford to stay in their beautiful but expensive home state. In the Pacific Northwest we have many Californians retired here with lower cost of living. No doubt California has lot to offer but only as a tourist.
  • Washington State, no income tax.

Referring to Oregon’s tourist industry in a 1971 speech, McCall may have first publicly voiced his famous “Come visit, don’t stay” slogan: “I urge them to come and come many, many times to enjoy the beauty of Oregon. But I also ask them, for heaven’s sake, don’t move here to live.”
