FYI: Just as the U.S. stock market stumbled in May only to take off in June, so too did flows for U.S.-listed ETFs. After registering their largest outflow of the year in May, ETFs took in their biggest inflow of the year in June—$63.8 billion.
In fact, June’s inflow was not only the largest of the year, but one of the largest monthly hauls ever, just a tad below the all-time monthly record from January 2018 of $68.1 billion.
Last month’s strong showing was enough to push year-to-date inflows ahead of 2018’s pace for the first time this year, $132.1 billion compared with $121.3 billion.
