  • Roth contributions do not count against the 401k limit, do they?

In other words, a person under age 50 can contribute $17k to a 401k and $5.5k to a Roth IRA, correct?
  • Reply to @Shostakovich: Correct as long as your income falls under the limit.

I max. out my 401k and also contribute max to Roth IRA for me and wife.

Please note that contribution limit for 401k for 2013 is $17500 (up from 17K for 2012)
