FYI: After four months of unusual calm, stock market volatility has struck again. The CBOE S&P 500 Volatility Index (VIX) has shot almost 50 percent higher since the start of May.
The latest bout of volatility was triggered by news of tariff increases from 10 percent to 25 percent on billions of dollars worth of Chinese goods by the U.S. government. Moreover, the breakdown in negotiations between both nations has dimmed the hope of a near-term resolution
