FYI: A generation ago, financial planners were expected to provide a steady stream of smart stock picks for our clients. In fact, a request for a hot stock tip was often the first question we were asked at dinner parties.
But times have changed, and most clients have come to see that a balanced portfolio of funds is the savvier approach. In short, advisors have gone from stock pickers to fund pickers.
