What To Do When A Star Manager Leaves

FYI: When a star manager calls it quits, should you take your money and run?

This isn’t just armchair speculation for investors in T. Rowe Price New Horizons (ticker: PRNHX). Manager Henry Ellenbogen’s last day on the job will be March 31. Ellenbogen, who is leaving the firm, has run the fund for nine years, producing top-notch returns. Investors can only hope he doesn’t take the portfolio’s outperformance with him, a common pitfall when a fund loses its star stockpicker.

Ted
