The Closing Bell: U.S. Stocks Hold Gains After Fed Minutes: Rut 2000 Leads Indexes
FYI: U.S. stocks maintained a modest advance Wednesday after minutes from the Federal Reserve’s latest meeting showed officials expressed greater concern about risks to economic growth, prompting them to signal a halt to interest-rate increases.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 63 points, or 0.24%, to 25259. The S&P 500 edged up 0..18%. Both benchmarks entered the day up about 11% for the year, putting the Dow industrials just 3.5% below last year’s record and the S&P about 5% off its all-time high. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite inched down 0.03%.
Eight of the eleven S&P 500 Sectors, led by Materials has a positive day. Regards, Ted
