Nowadays, more and more investors are taking a buy-and-hold, “set-it-and-forget-it” attitude. Recent events at Highland Global Allocation Fund are a reminder that eternal vigilance is the price of investing.

That’s particularly true when investments are tied up in illiquid, hard-to-trade assets, as they are at the $349 million Highland fund.
