Dividends Are Cutting Edge In A Volatile Stock Market

FYI: In a world increasingly beset by volatility, the humble dividend deserves more appreciation.

Unlike the broad market, which is fluctuating with an alarmingly erratic ferocity—or the political elite, who prefer inventing new ways to torment one another rather than addressing critical problems—the dividend is one of the few remaining constants in this world.

And yet dividends are mostly wildly unappreciated by investors, even though they historically generate 45% or so of a stock’s total return—and, when factoring in inflation, about 50%.
