Dow Gains 3% for Its Best Start Since 1997
The Dow climbed 710.40 points, or 3%, to 24,706.35 last week, while the S&P 500 rose 2.9%, to 2670.71, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 2.7%, to 7157.23. The Dow is now up 5.9% in 2019, its best start to a year since 1997, and the S&P 500 has gained 6.5%, its best start since 1987.
