KKR Restructuring Shows Rivals How To Attract New Investors

FYI: Index and mutual funds have been able to buy shares since shift from partnership.

More than $1bn of shares in KKR have been acquired by passively managed index funds after the US private equity group switched to a more attractive corporate structure able to join major stock indices.

KKR’s success in attracting new institutional investors comes as rival Blackstone is also considering restructuring from a publicly traded partnership to become a form of corporation.
