From Giddy To Gloomy: Stocks’ 12-Month Journey

FYI: What a difference a year makes!

Rarely has a flip of the calendar marked so pronounced a change in market dynamics and investor psychology. It’s hard to believe, but 12 months ago, there was near-giddiness, especially among speculators, and not just in mere common equities. Even more audacious bets were being laid that cryptocurrencies would keep soaring and that volatility would stay suppressed forever. Stocks were also bid up to lofty heights of about 20 times their expected earnings, which were about to pumped up by the tax cuts.

Ah, those were the days.
Regards,
Ted
