It Turns Out “Bond Tokens” And “Share Sokens” Might Just Be Classed As Securities

FYI: Remember Basis, the “stablecoin” backed by . . . stability? Back in June we broke the news that Stanford economist, and author of the “Taylor rule”, John Taylor had joined the project. Well, it's shutting up shop.

Basis had a big idea — it wanted to marry traditional monetary theory with cryptonomics, to deliver “a stable cryptocurrency with an algorithmic central bank”.

The point, like other stablecoins, was to have a coin with all the perceived benefits of crypto but none of the volatility.
