U.S. Economy Grew At 3.5% Rate In Third Quarter

FYI: Strong consumer spending powered economic growth in the third quarter, helping to offset weak business investment and a drop in U.S. exports.

Gross domestic product—the value of all goods and services produced in the U.S.—rose at a seasonally and inflation-adjusted annual rate of 3.5% from July through September, the Commerce Department said Friday.

Economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal expected a 3.4% reading.
