How Index Funds Can Be A Positive Force For Change

FYI: Index funds have grown 230% globally since 2007, four times faster than actively managed funds. If this trend continues, their assets are predicted to surpass those of active funds in the U.S. sometime during the 2021-2024 period.

With this growth comes increasing power and influence for index investors, and the potential for them to be a positive force for change. Large index asset managers, such as BlackRock, State Street, and Vanguard, have a tremendous opportunity to help align our economies with sustainable, inclusive growth—in which both people and natural resources are properly valued—while at the same time protecting clients’ assets from systemic risks.
