The auto industry is on an accelerating change curve. For hundreds of years, the horse was the prime mover of humans and for the past 120 years it has been the automobile.
There will always be predictions and projections. Some will even have merit. But this wild guesstimate will definitely fail.
Over several generations it might happen, but not in my lifetime. The change projected is just too, too dramatic to be implemented in a 20 year timeframe. Powerful auto coupled forces will join together and work against the concept. Change happens much more slowly if ever at all.
