Ironically, there are those who are running for political offices who would choose to eliminate government monetary support for "PBS,NPR" and related. Many commercial network programs today have jumped upon and expanded offerings that originated with public television. Whether there is any political or related bias in public television programs, is another debate. Public television has helped to inform, expand thinking and caused a large number of folks in this country to think differently about a given subject or to think about a subject they had not before considered; in the areas of science, nature and history, to name a few select areas. The big kids in D.C. surely have more important fish to fry, eh?
