The Closing Bell: Stocks Waffle At End Of Third Quarter
FYI: U.S. stocks flipped between small gains and losses on the final trading day of the third quarter, capping a period during which all three major indexes climbed to new highs.
Wall Street rose by a smidgen on Friday as gains led by Intel, real estate companies and utilities offset Facebook after the social network disclosed a security breach. The S&P 500 finished down 0.6%.
Stocks have retreated this week amid ongoing trade tensions and the Federal Reserve’s move to raise interest rates, but they remain just below record levels.
