FYI: I bought PFF @$18, (now $40+) plus a great yield.

  • Well done. We didn't buy any HY/HI until mid-May, 2009; buying SPHIX, FAGIX and DIHYX and still hold these funds.
Chart compare PFF, HYG, SPHIX, FAGIX, DIHYX
NOTE: the left slider icon below the chart may be moved full left for about a 1,400 day view, from the standard 200 day view
Those who have held this sector have done well during the past 3.5 years.
    Regards,
    Catch
  • Reply to @catch22: Looks like PFF is doing OK now, but it sure don't hold up so well in a downdraft. Think I'd rather have some of that other stuff.
  • Just checking a few I don't own. I do have SCHD, SPLV but wish to add another. Since I have a Fido account, FSDIX looks interesting except for a very bad 2008. It has a higher amount to real estate than others which makes it good for me.
  • The preferreds have done so well since they did so poorly in 2008 and have recovered nicely. I have held PDT, a closed end fund with leverage I like very much.
