The Closing Bell: Wall Street Rally Ends As Investors Sell Risk
FYI: U.S. stocks retreated Thursday with the Dow falling back below 26,000 on a report that President Donald Trump is likely to press ahead with tariffs against $200 billion more worth of Chinese products.
Trade-related news has played a central role in the market recently amid worries that heightened trade friction between U.S. and major trading partners could not only hamper U.S. economic growth but derail the global economy at large.
Ten of the eleven sectors of the S&P 500 finished in negative territory. Only Utilities had positive returns.
Markets will be closed on Monday for the Labor Day holiday and trading volume is expected to be light, as is typical for the final week of August. Regards, Ted
