The Closing Bell: Dow, S&P 500’s Rally Supported by Gains In Energy, Materials Shares
FYI: U.S. stocks extended gains Monday, with all major indexes in positive territory, as cyclical stocks that thrive during economic expansions led the broader market. A series of deals and optimism that progress would be made toward resolving contentious trade disputes between the U.S. and China also bolstered the market.
The bull market turns 3,453 days old this Wednesday. Barring a 20 percent decline between now and then, it would mark the longest bull market in history, according to S&P.
Since the current bull market started on March 9, 2009, the S&P 500 has surged more than 300 percent.
Ten of the eleven S&P 500 Sectors were in the green, with Consumer Staples in red figures. Regards, Ted
