The Closing Bell: U.S. Stocks Drop As Dollar Surges, Trade Row Heats Up
FYI: U.S. stocks finished lower Wednesday, pressured by worries surrounding Turkey’s currency crisis and continued trade tensions, while a sharp fall in oil prices sent the energy sector skidding.
Seven of the 11 major S&P sectors were lower, with energy and metal and mining companies hit by rising commodity prices. While trade-sensitive companies such as Boeing and Caterpillar fell, the usually trade-agnostic technology stocks also dropped.
European stocks fell broadly as the German Dax pulled back 1.6 percent and the French CAC 40 fell 1.8 percent. Regards, Ted
