How S&P's Big Sector Reshuffle Is A New Way To Play FAANG Stocks

edited August 2018 in The Bullpen
FYI: Standard & Poor's sector indexes will see a major shuffling next month, but already there's a new ETF that reflects the changes and offers exposure to FAANG stock such as Facebook (FB) and Alphabet (GOOGL).

The Communication Services Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLC) started trading June 19 and closed its first session around 50 a share. It has just $384 million in assets under management and only 26 holdings. But the portfolio includes some of the largest technology and media companies, which are being removed from existing sectors as part of the rearrangement.

What is now known as the Telecommunication Services sector will disappear from S&P's categories at the close of trading Sept. 21. It will morph into the new Communication Services sector, which will include companies from other sectors.
Regards,
Ted
