Free is the new buzzword in index funds, with Fidelity Investments the latest company to slash fees—all the way to zero. The Fidelity Zero Total Market Index fund (FZROX) and the Fidelity Zero International Index fund (FZILX), which launched last week, are the first stock-index mutual funds to eliminate expense ratios entirely, not even charging a basis point (1/100th of percentage point).
