Sports betting was the most addictive thing I ever experienced. Good riddance.

I can’t imagine how many lives gambling in general has ruined. In Michigan we’ve got “tribal” sponsored casinos piled one on top the other. A week doesn’t pass but that some poor soul (and otherwise fine individual) is being sentenced by a local Judge for embezzlement from an organization or employer for whom they worked - most often to feed a gambling addiction. Really sad.

Sorry to hijack the thread. I suspect that most who “gamble” in Vegas, etc. are there mainly for the full entertainment experience and return home without developing an addiction.

  • In Michigan, it is not uncommon to see an ad on tv for the Michigan lotto. These are very well done ads, and I'm sure these cost a pretty penny. It is also common to see an ad within the next hour or two of how to overcome a "gambling" addiction and which State of Michigan web site or phone number to use.
Not unlike the "pusher man" and drugs, eh?
