US Supreme Court Ends Nevada's Monopoly On Sports Betting
Sports betting was the most addictive thing I ever experienced. Good riddance.
I can’t imagine how many lives gambling in general has ruined. In Michigan we’ve got “tribal” sponsored casinos piled one on top the other. A week doesn’t pass but that some poor soul (and otherwise fine individual) is being sentenced by a local Judge for embezzlement from an organization or employer for whom they worked - most often to feed a gambling addiction. Really sad.
Sorry to hijack the thread. I suspect that most who “gamble” in Vegas, etc. are there mainly for the full entertainment experience and return home without developing an addiction.
In Michigan, it is not uncommon to see an ad on tv for the Michigan lotto. These are very well done ads, and I'm sure these cost a pretty penny. It is also common to see an ad within the next hour or two of how to overcome a "gambling" addiction and which State of Michigan web site or phone number to use. Not unlike the "pusher man" and drugs, eh?
