Elsewhere: "Chinese banks and companies looking to seize steel pledged as collateral by firms that have defaulted on loans are making an uncomfortable discovery: the metal was never in the warehouses in the first place." • I suppose nowhere is there a place immune to thieving scumbag liars.
  • Mr. Peregrine didn't fly away in time.
  • Peregrine's conscience gets to him, admits guilt, pays price.
Corzine's conscience still in standby mode, admits "knowing nothing", hey- no problem!

Must be a moral here somewhere, but damned if I can see what...
  • Moral? How about...avoid addiction and debt. But I know this can be a lot easier to say than do, like most things of value. As for Corzine? All things based on falsehood will eventually be proven wrong.

Reply to @Charles: How long is "eventually"? Lots of religions out there have been around 1000-2000 years or so... many of them directly contradict each other on essential points, so somebody must be engaging in "falsehood", or at the very least, "error". When we gonna find out who's right, if any of them?
  • Yes sir Old_Joe, "eventually" is indeed the catch word here. I think about it often. And sometimes, it's tough to reconcile.
