FYI: Christian Thwaites, chief investment officer at Brouwer and Janachowski, said that investors shouldn't be eyeing either gold or cryptocurrencies as a hedge against inflation and scary markets, instead they should rely on Treasuries. That said, Thwaites is not suggesting that investors need to do much hedging, as he believes returns will stay close to the levels expected for 2018 despite the return of volatility.
