FYI: Picking stocks is a lot like dating. A friend or a website introduces you to an eligible bachelor or bachelorette. If fireworks fly, you might start thinking, “This could be the one.” It’s easy to be smitten.
Stocks are much the same. Assume a friend or an online site shows you a stock that rocks. Year after year, its profits are better than breakfast in bed. But here’s where stocks differ from romance. When things are going well, it’s sometimes best to dump them.
