FYI: Kathleen Kahle, a professor at the University of Arizona, said that more and more start-up companies are finding ways to get financing without going through the initial-public offering process, which could lead to a shrinking stock market in the future, which could hurt investors and index funds. Also, Charles Rotblut had the Stock of the Week, Anne Coveney of T. Rowe Price discussed her firm's survey looking at how highly investors value peace of mind, and Bryan Hinmon of the Motley Fool Funds had the Market Call.
