Time To Get Selective On Consumer Staples: (XLP)

FYI: Consumer-staples stocks have been good to investors over the past decade. The Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR exchange-traded fund, which tracks that group, has an annual return of nearly 11.1%, versus 10.2% for the Standard & Poor’s 500 index.

In a low-interest-rate environment, like that of much of the past decade, these stocks frequently are winners, offering steady growth and dividends.
