FYI: The beginning of a new year is always full of promise, as people still believe they’ll keep their resolutions. In that spirit I offer my annual predictions for 2018.
I was wrong about stocks last year, but I got a lot of things right: no recession; three increases in the Federal Reserve’s federal funds rate; the apparent end of the 35-year-old bond bull market; the Trump administration’s reversal of many Obama-era executive orders, and no infrastructure spending, full Muslim ban or wall across the Mexican border.
So here are my best guesses about 2018:
