FYI: This year was the best of times and the best of times for exchange-traded funds, but the outlook for next year may not be quite as rosy. A total of $424 billion of new money flowed into U.S. ETFs through the end of November, according to research firm ETFGI. They now account for more than $3.3 trillion in assets, and a recently published McKinsey report suggests that figure could nearly double to $6 trillion by 2021.
