A nickel (or penny if you are in a hurry) for your thoughts-
Just as a penny (1 cent US currency) is not made of much copper anymore the nickel (5 cent US currency) has very little nickel anymore (25%). The melt value of a nickel (which is 75% copper and 25% nickel) is less than 4 cents (.038127). Interestingly, a pre - 1982 penny has a copper value of almost 2 cents.
Play around with you pocket change here:coinapps.com/nickel/us/calculator/But the future of Copper and Nickel as industrial metals is shiny. Growth in demand for these metals is predicted to be 100 times greater by 2025 for the chemical battery storage and Electric Vehicles industries.
I'm thinking VGPMX and or FSCHX might provide some exposure to these developments. Anyone following these trends with investment ideas in mind?
