Bizarre & OT - About 10% of Crew on Brit Nuclear Armed Sub Involved in Drugs / Sex Scandal

edited October 2017 in Off-Topic
I know this is a financial board. But thought some might appreciate this story. Been reading about it as it’s developed over past few weeks: “It means that around 10 per cent of HMS Vigilant's 168-strong crew have either been kicked out, quit, are under investigation or have been removed in what is believed to be one of the biggest sex and drugs scandals to hit the Navy.”

From The Chicago Tribune
“The nuclear sub problems come as tensions around the world's most dangerous weapons are heightening. ... (There) have been reports that the United States and the world's other nuclear powers are dusting off Cold War deterrent protocols. A few weeks ago, there were repeatedly denied reports that U.S. Strategic Command - the government agency that maintains the nation's nuclear weapons - has placed its B-52 bombers on 24-hour alert, a state of readiness not seen since 1991.”
