John Hussman: Warren Buffett Could Be Setting Stocks Up For 'One Of The Worst Disasters In History

FYI: Billionaire investor Warren Buffett made a lot of people feel better about historically stretched stock prices earlier this month.

Speaking in an interview with CNBC on October 3, the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway said, "Valuations make sense with interest rates where they are."

  • And his "market timing" fund where he puts his opinions into action:

    HSGFX:
    1y= -17
    3y= -12
    5y= -10
    10y= -7

  • @MikeM: Thanks, I used the wrong Hussman fund. I should have used HSGFX unstead of HSTRX. HSGFX more closely resembles the BRK.A portfolio.

  • $350M in that thing, wow
  • Like the proverbial stopped clock, Hussman will eventually be right twice. But who can afford to wait? He has great ideas, wonderful discussions of what is wrong with the market, but he has been wrong for decades. I had a money there but when he lost almost 20% in 2008/09 I wondered why if he was such a bear he didnt make any money?

    He talks a great game but doesn't really execute

    I stopped reading his commentaries years ago. I’ll admit they were brilliant.

    @hank- Sounds a bit like something my wife said to me the other day...
  • I will wait a few more weeks and then sell my 2x profunds and eliminate HSGFX for good for zero-tax transaction.

    Timing is everything:-D
