Delta Vows Not to Pay U.S. Duties on Bombardier's C Series

A rather interesting development:

https://bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-10-11/delta-vows-not-to-pay-u-s-import-duties-on-bombardier-jetliner

I wonder if this couldn't be the beginning of U.S. companies treating any form of imposed protectionism as a scoff law.

The Brits are steaming hot on this one. Portions of the new plane are manufactured in the UK (Northern Ireland). And Britain’s already suffering economically due to Brexit. Can’t blame them for being p’d off. A 300% tariff
    Is he nuts? https://www.vox.com/world/2017/9/27/16373156/boeing-tariff-bombardier-canada

The new Bombardier sounds like a nice plane. At 100 seats, it’s a bit smaller than today’s (aging) 737s. With wider seating from what I’ve read. Who wouldn’t appreciate that? (Maybe those govt. officials already flying on their $50,000 charter flights?)
