  • Not good. Interesting situation, though... just when we are convinced that all of the major world markets are pretty much intercoupled, leaving little room for diversification, the US goes one way and Europe another. Not at all sure if this is temporary insanity on our part or actual decoupling. My fear is that we (the US financials) are cruising along in Hindenburg mode, with a sorry end on the horizon.

    Your note about the hot air ship could bring forth some good editorial cartoons, eh?
    One can imagine the end of a meeting and the word is given to get that ship into the air and we promise that by the time you are scheduled to arrive; we will have the docking tower built and the ground crew trained...........ah, well.........okay.

    And yes, I continue to find Spain very problematic for all. The country is in a big hole that would require a long time span from which to recover; even if economies were to move back to 2006 levels tomorrow.
