Speaking as a GenX'er, there are some very good point made here....especially on the subject of technology+society, which echoes what I've been saying/writing about for years, too.
And I say this as someone who rarely agrees witih articles using broad strokes to define 'millennials' or 'GenX' or-or-or.
It's their world to shape - just like the "flower children" shaped .... (just don't like stereotypes)??? One thing I like about the people younger than myself I know is how comfortable they are in the world as they find it compared to old people like me. Remember their minds are not frozen and are, as a whole, more creative than older minds. So it's their turn to shape, for better or worse, their own world starting at their own reality. I'm glad to see them engaged and thinking even when I vehemently disagree.
I too am a Gen Xer, and I agree with a lot of what is said in the article. However, the author is stating we need to step up and do something about it. Realistically, I don't think there is much we can do about it. The influence of technology is on an inescable momentum. The notion that 70% of millennials would vote for a socialist candidate is also not very comforting.
