Forget Bingo! More Americans Are Working Part-Time In Retirement

FYI: (The Linkster took an early retirement from teaching at 55, and has worked part-time as a library coordinator and at a number of golf courses for the last 25 year. I really enjoy it, and recommend that that after retirement MFO Members consider some form of part-time work either for pay or as volunteer. It keeps you mind sharp.)

Whether it's for financial, social or mental health reasons, Americans are opting to work part-time in retirement and advisers are helping them figure out how to do it.

  • This is not anything new. Most of our retired clients do something besides golf, fishing, knitting, or watching cable news. Many do volunteer work, others use their retirement to work part-time in what they call a "fun retirement job".
