Investing With American Funds Is Like Betting On Tiger Woods

FYI: American Funds is a fabulous actively managed fund company. But they want you to invest based on what they used to do. That’s like betting money on Tiger Woods today.

  • Please note that many American funds are available to tax-defer accounts, the R classes, the 5% front load is waived. Their dominance started to decline when inexpensive index funds are widely available in many tax-defer accounts.
  • Why would I want or not want to invest with American Funds, depending on whether I agree or don't agree with this analogy ?!?!?!

    Whatever happened to simply explaining how people invest?
