Paul Katzeff: Fidelity Ends Fees For In-And-Out Trades On 75 Mutual Funds

FYI: Fidelity Investments has stopped charging short-term trading fees on 75 of its mutual funds.
While the move looks like a tactic designed to persuade shareholders not to shift their money to low-cost exchange traded funds — whose inflows have surged at the expense of higher cost mutual funds, mainly actively managed ones — Fidelity says the step is not a defensive response to the growing popularity of ETFs.
