The Closing Bell: Stocks Head Higher After Better Economic Reports

FYI: U.S. stocks on Tuesday shrugged off early losses to trade higher, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq touching a record high.
The Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, +0.52% advanced 32 points, or 0.6%, to 5,400 after touching an intraday trading high of 5,403 earlier.

The market’s move north follows a number of better-than-expected economic reports, including a reading on gross domestic product and consumer confidence. But the climb for equities was tempered by a slump in oil futures ahead of a key meeting of major crude producers.
Regards,
Ted
