Bond Funds Fall As Interest Rates Don't Wait For Fed Hike

FYI: Bond mutual funds got crushed in October as interest rates shot up on swelling investor expectations of a December Federal Reserve rate hike and a sentiment that global central banks are starting to wind down their long-standing monetary easing policies.

The 10-, five- and one-year U.S. Treasury note yields soared to 1.84%, 1.31% and 0.66% at the end of October, respectively, levels not seen since May. The yield curve steepened.
