  • Don't spend it all in one place.
  • Cake money. We can eat cake now.
  • How many years until we have to kick a sum back into SS to keep it going ?

  • Ooo, an extra Pearson's salted nut roll or nut goodie every month. No self-respecting Minnesotan would eat a 100 Grand bar if those two were available.

I'll take it ... although with the "true" cost of living for me and my wife this forth coming COLA adjustment falls well short of our "true" cost of living over the past twelve months just for the basics alone; and, not saying it covers the cost increase to maintain our current standard of living.

Glad, I became an investor many, many years ago becasue my invesment income exceeds my social security income; and, my investments are increasing, by far, faster than the COLA.

Wonder how many Snicker bars our COLA will buy this year? What? Not even one a day for me and my wife! Oh well, there goes our daily Snickers bars.

Some people are doing that already. Look up the details, but from memory, over a certain income level 50% of SS becomes taxable.
