One way to keep up in your field of interest is by following the presenter and topics presented at conferences and seminars.

Here's a list of upcoming conferences on "Big Data, Analytics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things Events":

For example, here's one conference I uncovered from the above link:

RoboUniverse is a conference and expo that explores the incredible field of robotics, including their development, application, and use. Through a series of seminars, tutorials, and exhibits, attendees will gain insight into robotics and learn about the educational, business, and technical opportunities within this growing industry.

From here, I retrieved this article on "Knowledge Absorbing Robots" and the Cloud:

Brown University professor Stefanie Tellex came up with the theory of what if robots could learn from other robots in her study “Million Object Challenge”. The goal of Tellex’s theory, “Million Object Challenge,” is for research robots around the globe to learn common daily tasks and objects then upload those learned information to their data cloud. The information uploaded by one robot to the cloud can then be accessed and analyzed by other robots across the globe.
